At DASC we offer a variety of classes and clubs designed specifically for the promotion of seniors' mental health and wellness.  The following list highlights our current ongoing classes and clubs:

Art Class (Fee): Classes meet on Monday.  Class one is from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM and class two is from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM.  Classes include instruction in fine arts including mediums such as water color and pastels.

Arts & Crafts (Fee): Classes meet on Tuesday at 12:30 PM.  This is a "make it & take it" craft project class.  The class is sure to get your creative juices flowing.

Book Club (Free): The book club meets on the 4th Thursday of every month at 1:00 PM.  Karen Smith from the Downingtown Library will lead this book discussion group.

Bridge Club (Free): Join our bridge club ever Monday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.  Any experience level welcome.  Seasoned players are willing to provide instruction.

Chorus "The Downtowners" (Free): The chorus practices every Tuesday at 11:00 AM.  Any and all skill levels are welcome to join the chorus.  Several times throughout the year the chorus takes their show "on the road."

Knit Wits Knitting Club (Free): Knit one, pearl two... our knitting club is just for you.  The knitting club meets every Tuesday at 1:00 PM.  Bring your questions and your needles too.  Learn how to knit and help our club knit cozy baby blankets for expectant mothers of Chester County Women's Services Medical.

Puzzle Club (Free): Our puzzle club meets every day at the Center.  Typically the first to arrive (at 9:00 AM) and the last to leave (whenever we close) our puzzle group enjoys good conversation, good friendship and good mental stimulation.  Completed puzzles are donated to local nurising homes to be displayed as artwork for the residents to enjoy.

Poker Club (Free): Join our poker club.  The club meets every Thursday beginning at 10:00 AM and includes instruction and tournament play. 


Those classes with a fee noted require participants to pay a nominal fee to help defray the cost of classes.  Fees are collected through a coupon book system.  Participants may purchase coupon books at the following rates:

12 sessions - $30.00 (Member) or $60.00 (Non-Member)

25 sessions - $60.00 (Member) or $80.00 (Non-Member)
